The BSS School organised ’Interface 2024- A Fest with A Cause’ its’ annual fest with the motive to bring out the multifarious talents that students of the present times are blessed with. The two day fest on the 26th and 27th of April 2024, had competitions ranging from cerebral domains to physical agility and expertise and not forgetting some meant purely to entertain the tired hearts and minds.

Every year along with fun, frolic and learning we also have a strong social responsibility attached intrinsically with this fest. In keeping with this sentiment of empowering girl child with education since its inception, this year we pledged support to helping the uncared for widows, abandoned by their families.

Twenty-one exhilarating events captivated participants and spectators alike, drawing top schools from Kolkata to compete in a diverse range of competitions. The fest commenced with a thrilling display of athleticism on April 25th, featuring a gripping boys’ basketball match and a spirited tug of war contest.

Day one, April 26th, commenced with the girls’ basketball tournament at 7:00 AM, setting the tone for a day brimming with enthusiasm. Seven schools showcased their skills in the Dribble & Swoop (basketball) event, followed by a gripping tug of war competition. The inauguration ceremony at 9:00 AM was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including our revered Principal Ma’am, Chief Guest Smt. Sutapa Talukdar, Guest of Honour Hilda Peacock Ma’am, and Additional Secretary Dipti Khaitan Ma’am. The event commenced with a mesmerizing fusion dance performance by class 8 students, culminating in the traditional lamp lighting ceremony.

The day unfolded with a flurry of activities, including skating, Rasa Ranga (Eastern dance), Sangeetalam (Eastern music), Pouranik Adhunik (Shruti Natok), Interface Investiture, our only business event, Comic Cascade (Comic strip), Fire Cooking Competition, YouthCine Expo (Short Film), and Live Painting events.

Day two, April 27th, commenced with Talent Blitz, offering participants a minute to showcase their talents, followed by captivating performances by Western band groups and a dazzling fashion show which showed the evolution of fashion through the ages. Simultaneously, the photography event captured moments of splendor across the school premises, while Creative Advertisement, Theatrical Event, and Model Making competitions engaged participants’ creativity.

The festivities culminated with the electrifying performance by The Band Trap. For two hours, the students were truly “trapped” in a captivating spell, as the band’s energetic and electrifying performance left the audience spellbound. The fusion of music, dance, and pure entertainment was a sight to behold, and it was difficult to capture the essence of the experience in words alone. Finally followed by the grand closing ceremony, ending with the National Anthem.

Interface 2024 not only provided a platform for students to exhibit their talents but also fostered camaraderie and sportsmanship among participating schools.

The fest, with its eclectic mix of events, upheld the spirit of innovation and creativity, leaving an indelible mark on all who attended.

As we bid adieu to Interface 2024, we eagerly anticipate next year’s edition, Interface 2025 which promises to be even more spectacular and inspiring, eagerly anticipated by all the participants, organizers, and attendees.
