On Monday, 4th December 2023, The BSS School had the honour and privilege of hosting legendary cricketer Padma Shri awardee Ms. Jhulan Goswami.

Mr. Prasanta Saha Regional Director, Tata Steel Kolkata International Marathon had organised this programme to inspire the young minds to be more physically and mentally fit.

Ms Goswami enthralled and motivated not just the young students but also the teachers with her inspirational journey from the ordinary village of Chakdaha to global recognition.

In the speech to the students, we learnt the following keys to success-

1. The need to communicate in three languages in spite of coming from a suburban school in Chakdaha, she mastered the art of communicating in English, Hindi and Bengali with her exposure to the global platform.

2.If she was late even for a minute, the coach did not allow her to join the practice sessions which taught her to respect time and the values of perseverance and dedication.

3. To believe in oneself and not to allow any criticism to affect your passion.In our journey we may face more failures than success but one must be able to learn from one’s mistakes and get inspired to pursue success.

The program concluded with the students having a zumba session with Ms Natalie Pota Shaw.
